Jeremey Marck Davis (born October 05, 1990), is known by his stage name Marck Jai, was born to Jacquline Davis & Cecil Street in Albany Ga. Growing up, Marck Jai was always an outstandingly intelligent and extremely gifted child. While most children his age were learning how to walk and talk, Marck was already beginning to show his love for music by learning & performing every song that his ears came into contact with. Most of this influence came from his grandmother who was a Christian evangelist as well as a radio personality on Albany Ga.'s top AM radio station 9.60 Gold. The majority of his childhood was raised in the church along with his only brother Jerrell, and a host of other foster or adopted children that were taken in by his grandmother. When he was 7 years old, he began to write his own lyrics and decided that he wanted to pursue singing and rapping as not only a talent, but as a career. Due to his natural talent to perform & entertain crowds, his mother began to enter him into every talent show or music competition possible, and he began to win. By the time he was 11 years old, he was a local celebrity. The sky was the limit for this rising star until tragedy struck when his mother lost her 13 year battle with Sarcoidosis and died in 2001. This was by far the worst thing that a young child could go through, but Marck was determined to not let his mother die in vain. Growing up in the tough, poverty stricken streets of Albany, Georgia, Marck Jai found an escape from reality and created a place of creativity, freedom and expression in the form of music. In the spring of 2005, he was introduced to Jason (Jai Bake) Baker at a local high school. Jai Bake had created a name for himself around the city as the best young producer that Albany had ever seen. After one studio session together, Marck Jai and Jai Bake decided to team up and put their individual musical gifts together and create a new sound of music never before heard. Music that was full of life & energy, but not boxed into any genre. This is were the idea of rhythm filled lyrics was born and the word "Rlyphik" was manifested. At this time in both of their careers, it was only right that they begin a record label together and entitle it Rlyphik Entertainment. In the summer of 2016, Marck Jai won the Hip Hop Independent breakthrough artist of the year in Atlanta, having over a 1 Million YouTube views and 100,000 mix-tape downloads to date, Marck Jai is definitely a rising star to watch.
